handwoven with my daughter – selecting bobbins, winding on the wool warp and stepping/pressing the treadles

My favorite part of the process. These bundles are tied looser than the last time I used this material. Threading with sticky, slightly stiff threads. Knowing how to work with them and not against them. Also reflective of my state as I work. A bit more comfortable and free (while still maintaining order during set up).

summer weaving……..working on a rug
linen warp
C Sathal on my wrist (love her work…and the package it came in was so beautiful too)
cones of wool rug yarn (she was there….I let her play…the huge cones of wool don’t mind)

Thank you for the congrats on my last post.
Gathering wool for the rug.
I’m used to warping with delicate threads, so working with thick linen was a new experience for me. It took me a couple of days, but the linen is on the loom. Now I just need to fill some shuttles with wool.

Working on linen and silk cushions. I like the way the fabric curves and I have yet to add the pillow form! It is exciting but a little painful cutting hand woven fabric. I save every scrap.
