Baby Surprise Jacket by Elizabeth Zimmermann
From The Opinionated Knitter
Yarn: Sublime Yarns Cashmere Merino Silk Aran color 0107
Needles: 4.5 mm
Mods: two buttonholes only at top (cast off before last garter stitch ridges in patt), tied with 1” double faced satin ribbon in Almond Blossom from M & J Trimming
Hills of garter stitch goodness turned (folded, actually) into a sweet little baby jacket tied with a satin ribbon. In my excitement to finish this project I neglected to take photos before sewing the two shoulder seams. I enjoy photos of the odd shaped piece of knitting almost as much as the completed jacket.
I’m not sure where my needles will take me next. I think tonight I’ll curl up with my well-worn copy of EZ’s Knitter’s Almanac – it never fails to inspire.
